New Project- Fashion
Our new project for March is Fashion! So I have been thinking of what is popular and "in" at the moment but whilst saying this I need to focus on something that will still fit in with the jewellery I am busy creating at the moment which is delicate jewellery based around flowers and nature.
It seems that society has become very aware of the "green" movement. It has almost become Fashionable to many people, but actualy there is a seriousness behind it to try to start protecting our planet to the best of our ability. I am going to explore creating more jewellery with my reference being nature and the outdoors to tie into this big movement the world is experiencing at the moment.

another splash piece
This piece needs to be refined. The parts that make up the flowers need to be more delicately and specifically shaped. I put some of the flowers in the piece for the photo.
some of my splash project pieces
I want to make a range of these rings where th petals are propellors and they spin in the wind

I love shadows! Especially jewellery that makes for good shadows!!!

Pages from my sketch journal
Here are som seeds of Dandelions i tried to create out of silver wire...

I have been thinking about the dandelion flower and how it is made up of individual little delicate seeds that float when you blow them and make a wish.
Designs from my drawing journal
Some design ideas for my shining lights competition drawings. They all come from elements and flowers i have been experimenting with.

An Earring a day project
I decided to make a new design of an earring per day so I started off with these designs which I have used my Flower punch with...

Test piece enamel orchids
I am busy trying to create orchids out of fine silver and enamel
Here is an orchid from my sister's garden, but it has somehow lost most of its beautiful colour

Some of my test pieces for pink enamel on fine silver. As you can see the pinks donot work well on silver so I am now going to have to try on copper
Here are some of the orchids i made and tried out the enamel colours on

I bought this punch to start making flower paper cut outs

Thought I would try it out in fine silver rolled to paper thin thickness

Trying out different ideas with these flowers

Back to my Helicopter prototypes

Chriss taught me fold forming. It could be an option for the petals in my petrius flowers to make them stronger and to give them detail
I have been trying to create helicopter flowers out of fine silver. I have been trying all sorts of methods and different flower variations.

Cut out then put back through the roller

Cut out and hit with a punch in the middle

*I need the stem of the flower to lengther when I hit it with a punch

I think this would make a nice hair clip

The question I have been asking myself this week is: how delicate can a piece of jewellery be and what makes it feel so delicate. (still looking about and thinking about it.)
